SGA Golf Travel

Social Golf Australia has partnered with a range of golf courses, golf accommodation providers and golf travel and event managers to offer travel packages to four of Australia's premier golfing regions and to detinations throughout Asia and in Africa. Through our partnerships with Golf Clearance Outlet, Srixon, Cleveland Golf, Heathcote Winery, Sport Leisure, Bushranger Golf, Barnbougle Dunes and a range of industry partners, Social Golf Australia can create great value golf getaways for small or large groups and we can value-add with the inclusion of discount golf equipment, merchandise, accessories and apparel for the golfers on you trip. For information on tailoring a golf travel package to suit your golf group, contact SGA.

In 2011, we partnered with a Thaland-based on-ground handler to offer Australian golfers tailored travel packages to a range of golf travel destinations in Asia. As part of the agreement, we founded our first international golf event with the inaugural SGA International to be held in Pattaya, Thailand from March 17 - 24, 2012. In 2012 we partnered with Tourica Tours to offer hosted golf trips to Africa. Our golf travel destinations include:

The SGA International - Thailand

In 2012 SGA hosted the first SGA International in Pattaya, Thailand and it has been a popular fixture on our event schedule ever since. It is the highlight of our annual event schedule and we are looking forward to another great tournament again in 2016.

Barnbougle Dunes and The Lost Farm - Bridport, Tasmania

Now the premier golfing destination in Australia, Barnbougle Dunes and The Lost Farm in Bridport on the North coast of Tasmania has quickly been embraced by golfers around the world as one of the most remarkable links golf experiences outside the spiritual home of links golf in Scotland. SGA is a wholesale supplier with Barnbougle Dunes and Vortex Air, so we can tailor a booking for a deluxe golf experience at great value. Our partnerships with Heathcote Winery and Wilson Staff mean we can offer a package with the added value of some extra courage de beaujolais and a few extra dozen golf balls to donate to the significant cabbage at The Barn and The Farm.

The Cups Region - Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

Blessed with a sand base across the Cups region and some of the most remarkable dune formations in Australia, the Cups region has established itself as a premier Australian golfing destination with a collection of remarkable golf courses concentrated in a small golfing precinct an hour south-east of Melbourne.

The Gold Coast - South East Queensland

Australia's premier golf tourism destination since the opening of the first resort course on the coast, palm Meadows, in 1984. As a hub of Australian tourism, the Gold Coast is now the home of a remarkable collection of resort-style Championship golf courses.

Barwon Heads - South West Coast, Victoria

In the 1890s, Barwon Heads Golf Club was established and has forged a reputation as a classical masterpiece of Australian links golf. In the 1990s the 36-hole 13th Beach Golf Links was founded next door to the Barwon Heads GC with two superb links golf courses - The Beach Course designed by Tony Cashmore and the Creek Course designed by Nick Faldo. With the 4.5 star Hawthorn Suites on course at 13th Beach and more superb courses such as Torquay Sands in the region, Barwon Heads has become a must-visit destination for golfing enthusiasts.

Annual Golfing Getaways hosted by SGA

These events put the social in social golf and are all open to SGA golfers from around Australia to enter and enjoy. Before founding SGA in 2009, Matthew Pitt established Bushranger Golf (BRG). Some of the events here were developed by Bushranger Golf and some have been founded by SGA. These events are all held at the same time each year and Matt hosts and attends them all. Our two premier annual events are The SGA International and the Australian Social Golf Club Championships (ASGCC). All the events are fun and attended by golfers who enjoy a hit and a laugh on great golf courses. Each event has a competition format plus trophies and prizes, but the emphasis is always on enjoying the golf, the company and the experience.
