The Tour Championship is the final event of the Tour season and is intended as a celebration of the year of golf on the Victorian SGA Tour. We play a round of golf on a deluxe golf course followed by a presentation dinner where we give out all the major awards for the year. It is our hope that all Tour members and regular Tour players as well as guests come along to enjoy the fun, glamour and excitement of the day at The Tour Championship. There will be a competition with prizes and results on GOLF Link for all players attending.
As an added bonus, the top 25 players (plus ties) in the Order of Merit (OOM) who attend will compete on the day in a separate event for the prestigious Tour Championship title. Note that if a player in the top 25 cannot take their place in the field, that place is offered to the first alternate (the 26th player in the OOM plus ties) and so on. Hence, if five of the top 25 do not attend, the Tour Members down to 30th place (plus ties) will qualify to compete for the Tour Championship title.
This means we will have two separate competitions run on the day - the 25 competing for the Tour Championship and all other players enjoying a fun competition with some great prizes. As with all Tour events, the results will be entered on GOLF Link. The Tour Championship is a separate title to the Order of Merit and will be decided by the results over 18 holes of stableford at the Tour Championship Final. Besides qualification, all previous results for the year will not be relevant.
In 2012, The Tour Championship for the Victorian SGA Tour will be held on Wednesday December 12 at Victoria Golf Club, one of Melbourne's premier sandbelt courses and the venue for the 2010 and 2011 Australian Masters. After the superb service, facilities and golf course we enjoyed last year, it was an easy decision to return the Tour Championship to Victoria in 2012. All SGA Tour players and their guests are welcome to book in to play and enjoy the day of the Tour Championship, however SGA Tour Members do have the privilege of having a place in the field reserved for them.

In 2011, The Tour Championship for the Victorian SGA Tour was held on Wednesday December 7 at Victoria Golf Club, one of Melbourne's premier sandbelt courses and the venue for the 2010 and 2011 JBWere Australian Masters. In 2011, we had the added excitement of playing the event one week prior to the commencement of the Masters, so the course was in peak condition and the club was a hive of activity with the preparations for the Masters in full swing.
