SGA Media goes inside the ropes on the bag of 2016 NSW Open contender

SGA’s own Robbie O’Donnell is set to carry the bag of Australasian PGA Tour and Japanese Tour player, Matthew Guyatt at the 2016 NSW Open as Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club.  As part of a week-long journey, we will go behind the scenes of a professional tournament and document what it’s like to caddy for a top touring pro.  Matthew has been kind enough to allow us to capture video footage and photographs of the experience as he chases victory in the Tier 1 tournament.

“I was doing cartwheels around my office when Matty contacted me with the opportunity, I only hope he doesn’t want me to read any putts!” said O’Donnell.  “He’s a great bloke and we’ve been lucky enough to do some media with Matt in the past, so I’m sure it will be a great experience, and I think given the form he’s been in, he’s got a good chance of being in the mix on Sunday afternoon.  I’m not sure who’ll be more nervous, me or Matty”.

Guyatt has been in great form of late, recently securing his Japanese Tour card for 2017 and competing in the famous Alfred Dunhill Links Championships in Scotland, where he made the very difficult 3 round cut to fulfil one of his childhood dreams of playing at St Andrews on Sunday afternoon.

Over the course of the week we will be posting daily news items on the experience and Matt’s progress in the tournament, which boasts a $400,000 prize pool.
